Softball team
Want to be part of the St John Ambulance team? Employees
joined the Charity Softball League in 2009
with their powerful new team, 'The Badgers'.
Nearly 40 charities battled it out in Hyde
Park, London to be crowned the softball
champions of their group.
Despite being newcomers, the Badgers have been honing their
skills and have showed flair and resilience
against established teams such as Voluntary Services Overseas, Age
Concern and Crimestoppers, scoring 273 runs, the most runs in
the whole league of 40 teams.
It not only gives all departments of St John Ambulance the chance to work together and have fun but it also enables us to get to know our fellow charities better too.
Rosie Myres
St John Ambulance Fundraiser and Badgers' Team Captain
Badgers’ Captain Rosie Myres who was behind the team’s
conception said: ‘Softball is such an enjoyable game. It not only
gives all departments of St John Ambulance the chance to work
together and have fun but it also enables us to get to know our
fellow charities better too.’
With ten players on the field each week, the Badgers
eagerly await each game, ready to show off their
batting and catching skills and tight team work.

The Badgers must thank the support of The MJ Group who kindly sponsored the
team for a full kit of bats, balls and gloves and designed their
rather trendy team logo and t-shirts. The MJ Group provide a full
range of traditional and digital print services.
